Here are my top 25 Tips for sustainable weight loss as a vegan. But before you learn what to do, let’s go over the common mistakes so you can start your vegan weight loss the right way!
- Weight loss is not easy and it is not linear. Consistency and patience are a must for reaching your vegan goals.
- You will not lose weight every week. It’s totally normal for your weight to go up and down. It’s best to look at the trends of over time. There will be weeks where you will plateau or maybe even gain weight for reasons such as ….you got your period you are dehydrated, used too much salt the night before, etc.
- When I began my vegan witless journey, I only cared about calories. I had the really toxic idea that 1,200 calories was the magic number for me to achieve and maintain my goal weight. Let me tell you what that got me: skinny fat, hangry and a really unhappy metabolism. And what’s worse? I couldn’t maintain that weight loss bc I was eating more than 1200 calories (surprise) & my metabolism was on strike.
- Fad diets don’t work for sustainable results. While you may lose weight initially, the restrictions imposed by fad diets are unhealthy and unrealistic to maintain – ultimately leading to failure.
